Welcome to my windows of thought ;)

I'm Asma Alsuwailem, a creative director and curator working at the intersection of space, objects, and image.

My practice is rooted in philosophy, art, and cinema.
What drives it is simpler to feel than explain, a fascination with how meaning takes form, and a deep pull toward the tension between what is hidden and what is revealed.

I think in windows.
Portals to memory, to imagination,
to everything the frame almost contains.

You are now standing at the window.
Come in.

Project 01. Niewe Modig
Creative Direction Agency.

Fashion got tired of itself. The big promises, the glossy nothing, the brands selling you a lifestyle you were never actually invited into. Something had to give. Niewe Modig, which means 'New Spirit,' is a creative direction agency built on a single idea.

A new way of seeing.

The name borrows from John Berger's quiet conviction that we see the world before we ever find the words for it. That instinct, visual, immediate, honest, is what we look for in every creative we represent.

Niewe Modig represents creative directors who make you stop, look again, and walk away seeing things slightly differently than you did before.

That's the work. That's the whole point.

‘The Aesthetics of Absence’: How Gen Z Audiences Decode Exclusivity, Status, and Taste in The Row’s Digital Marketing

The Row has built one of the most recognised identities in contemporary fashion without really trying to be recognised. No campaigns, no noise, very little explanation.

This project explores whether that silence actually lands with Gen Z.
A generation raised on saturation, now drawn to something that barely speaks. The research looks at how they interpret The Row's Instagram presence and what a brand built on restraint means to an audience built on visibility.

Project 03.

The Internal Mirror

The beauty industry has always been obsessed with the mirror. How you look, what needs fixing, how close you can get to some version of perfect. This project isn't interested in that. The Internal Mirror is a short-film series built around a different question each time. Not how can we look more beautiful, but how does beauty actually feel.

The idea is rooted in something simple. Beauty isn't a physical standard to be measured. It's a feeling. And more often than not it shows up in the quiet, unplanned moments that nobody thinks to document.

The research draws on Hume's belief that beauty exists entirely in the mind of the person experiencing it, and Magritte's The Human Condition, a painting about how we never just receive the world around us; we construct it from the inside. That thinking shapes the structure of the films. Three short films, each following a different person through the same cinematic journey. Window, eye, inner moment. The camera moves from the outside world, through the glass, holds on the eye, then dissolves into memory. Grainy, textured, impressionistic. The way the brain actually stores feeling rather than fact.

Project 04.
Threads of the Sea:
Culture and Craft in Farasan

The Farasan Islands have always lived around the sea. Fishing, trading, finding a way. That relationship doesn't just disappear.

Threads of the Sea is an exhibition about what stays. The things that get passed down without anyone really deciding to pass them down. The landscapes that still hold the shape of how people used to move through them. The stories that have quietly outlasted the people who first told them.

Photography, textiles, installation. Works by regional, national and international artists, all circling the same question. What does maritime heritage actually feel like when you're standing inside it? It's not a history lesson. It's more of a slow look at something that's still there if you know where to look.
