Welcome to my windows of thought ;)

I'm Asma Alsuwailem, a creative director and curator working at the intersection of space, objects, and image.

My practice is rooted in philosophy, art, and cinema.
What drives it is simpler to feel than explain, a fascination with how meaning takes form, and a deep pull toward the tension between what is hidden and what is revealed.

I think in windows.
Portals to memory, to imagination,
to everything the frame almost contains.

You are now standing at the window.
Come in.

Threads of the Sea:
Culture and Craft in Farasan

The Farasan Islands have always lived around the sea. Fishing, trading, finding a way. That relationship doesn't just disappear.

Threads of the Sea is an exhibition about what stays. The things that get passed down without anyone really deciding to pass them down. The landscapes that still hold the shape of how people used to move through them. The stories that have quietly outlasted the people who first told them.

Photography, textiles, installation. Works by regional, national and international artists, all circling the same question. What does maritime heritage actually feel like when you're standing inside it? It's not a history lesson. It's more of a slow look at something that's still there if you know where to look.
